The 2018 Wrest Point TSL Women’s season has been launched at Wrest Point by AFL Tasmania CEO Trisha Squires, AFL’s Head of Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone and Wrest Point General Manager Dominic Baker.
In its second season, the rapidly growing popularity of the Tasmanian state league women’s competition has surpassed expectations.
“Women’s football is more than just about women’s football, it’s actually a movement,” Nicole Livingstone said while visiting Hobart for the launch.
Dominic Baker spoke at the launch of the growth of girls playing football at grass roots, and the bright future for women’s football in Tasmania. He said that Wrest Point’s sponsorship was about giving the league an initial boost to get off the ground, as the basis for a meaningful longer term partnership.
