The Point Revolving Restaurant and Wrest Point’s conference centre were celebrated at the Tasmanian Tourism Awards, both picking up gold medals in the Tourism Restaurant and Catering Services and Business Event Venue categories respectively.
These awards are judged across five categories; Tourism Excellence, Business Planning, Marketing, Customer Service and Sustainability.
The Business Event Venue category recognises venues who provide high quality facilities specifically designed for business events such as meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. This is the second consecutive year Wrest Point has won this category.
The Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services category acknowledges restaurants offering a tourism experience and/or serving the tourism industry. It is not a food award, but does recognise a significant contribution to tourism through the provision of food and beverage.
Gold medal winners go on to compete as national awards finalists at the Australian Tourism Awards to be held at Launceston’s Cataract Gorge in early 2019.
