Legendary DJ Fatboy Slim has announced he will visit Australia on 3 February 2019, performing an exclusive concert on Wrest Point’s waterfront lawns.

The British artist’s beats are expected to reverberate over the Derwent River, with hit tracks from the ‘90s and ‘00s, ‘Weapon of Choice’, ‘Praise You’ and ‘Right Here, Right Now’  through to the 2013 hit ‘Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat’  featuring in his only Australian show.

Wrest Point General Manager Dominic Baker said that the success of the Cold Chisel concert on the waterfront lawns last year had proven to be a big drawcard for Australian and international artists.

“From the beginning, Wrest Point was built to entertain. Securing Fatboy Slim is a huge coup and part of our revival in bringing the world’s best entertainers to Tasmania,” he said.

“Tasmania relishes in national and international acts and we’re determined to bring more of them – and look at this stunning location…who wouldn’t want to perform here?

“One thing we do know is that as Tasmanians, we can be a bit laid-back when it comes to booking tickets. We’re expecting an influx of Fatboy Slim fans from mainland Australia, so we really want to urge locals to get in quickly.”

Fatboy Slim, aka Norman Cook, has won 10 MTV Video Music Awards, two Brit Awards and a Grammy in his pioneering and widely celebrated career.

The show is the last in a full summer series of concerts at Wrest Point that also includes Ministry of Sound: Orchestrated with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

Tickets through Ticketmaster go on pre-sale Tuesday, 30 October at 10:00 am and to the general public on Thursday, 1 November at 9:00 am.
